About Us

HOW DID IT START?

The GC Collective was originally founded by Laura Van Noordenberg in 2015 as a way to bring creative businesses in Geelong together. Today, we continue to unite businesses to and encourage innovation, collaboration and inspiration for creative businesses in Geelong.

SO, WHAT DOES THE GC COLLECTIVE DO?

The GC Collective is locally owned collective of Geelong creative businesses. We offer memberships to help promote business and support them to flourish.

Our members include photographers, candle makers, artists, illustrators and producers of skincare, self care products, clothing, bags, accessories and so much more.

We encourage collaboration between members and are looking to extend the collaboration to service partners.

We create opportunities for our members, such as:

  • Westfield Geelong x GC 'Meet the Makers' Market at Westfield Geelong

  • Gordon Open Day Market

  • GC Pop Up Shop

  • Collaborations with Geelong Arts Centre

  • Photoshoots

  • Social Media promotion

And more!

WHO IS THE FACE BEHIND GC?

Jessica Robertson is our Chief Creative and the manager of The GC Collective.

Jessica is passionate about small business and about helping people gain the skills and connections they need to build and maintain an effective business.

She also believes in tribe because you can’t do it on your own. This is what’s fabulous about The GC Collective. We are building a tribe of people with different skills and knowledge. Jess wants to harness this and, with the help of some outside influences too, use this to help businesses grow. We need to apply an abundance mentality- that is, there’s plenty of business to go around and by helping each other, we’re also helping ourselves!

Finally, she’s passionate about Geelong. There’s something pretty special about where we live. Our city is rich in culture, resources, opportunities and wonderful people.

'I see the purpose of Geelong Creatives to provide promotion of small business and well as nurturing an environment of learning from each other, collaboration and support.

Bring it on!'
